Where can I buy a Quilt that the proceeds go to cancer research?

One of my very good friensd is getting married next month, and I am looking to buy a nice warm quilt for a wedding gift. Her mother died of cancer about 10 years ago, and I would love for the proceeds of the quilt to go toward cancer research. Does anyone know where I can get one of these?

Every year, ebay has a special auction of quilts to honor and benefit breast cancer patients through the Susan G. Koman foundation. Better Homes & Garden puts on the Quilt Pink event and the quilts produced in 2007 are about to be auctioned off this month. You can find more information here:

This cause is very near to my heart as well, being a quilter, having lost my mother to breast cancer in February 2005 and currently waiting on biopsy results for myself.

30 Healthy Snacks

A mom from our Michigan’s Adventure boot camp wrote in and asked me for some healthy snack ideas so I created a list. You will notice that these are not manufactured, processed foods. Also Im not adding the calorie content because people make way too big of a deal about their calories when the focus should be eating the right foods.

These snacks are highly nutrient dense food that contain healthy fats, and carbs.

Please leave comments and/or add your favorite healthy snack to our list.

1. Pear w/ handful of almonds, cashews or walnuts
2. Lowfat string cheese/1 slice multi grain bread
3. Non fat cottage cheese w/strawberries or 1/2 cup of applesauce or blueberries
4. Jay robb strawberry protein powder mixed w/fat free cottage cheese, strawberries (tastes like cheesecake)
5. ½ oz. non-nitrate beef jerky/5 w.w. crackers

Why a women’s only camp at 5:30am?  Funny…but the inspiration came from being surrounded by amazing women in my life starting with both of my grandmothers who have passed away, my amazing mom, and my older sister that used to kick my butt a lot when I was very young! lol… I saw the struggles they went through with trying to stay fit at all ages, and wanted to create an environment that any of them could join and feel comfortable in..unlike the typical gym atmoshere experience where they were left intimidated, confused, and at some points… even felt taken advantage of by high pressured, sales people (I mean trainers).

I am proud to say Michigans Adventure Boot Camp is rapidly expanding throughout Southeast Michigan as I continue with my vision of attracting professionally like-minded women, moms, and housewives to our boot camps which is ultimately a comfortable community where women can connect and make friends, receive support and motivation, while receiving premium fitness training that is safe, fun, and effective for all fitness levels. 

My vision is first to replicate my boot camp system and make it accessible in each major community across Southeast Michigan within the next few years. the patriot who has the perfect combination of size, simplicity, can be gas mileage, high-capacity off-road and a good album good road not to mention a very good price … What are the downfalls?

Although from the outset, I must say that I love jeeps, have three, one with a stroker. I get to drive many new vehicles due to extensive travel schedules. My advice, go to Thrifty car rental and rent in the weekends. Everyone has different driving styles and mine is aggressive. The one I had rented the variable automatic transmission and it seemed strange reality not too big highway mileage of gas. I am over 6 'tall and found it comfortable, no problems on the road, and space, which surprised me, and really no other complaints. Good luck
